Den Gamle By (The Old Town)

Seventy-five historic buildings relocated from across Denmark and rebuilt as a functional town. Costumed staff work as blacksmiths, bakers, and shopkeepers in buildings dating from 1550 to 1974. The merchant's house smells of coal smoke; the pharmacy displays bottles of morphine and cocaine from when both were legal. The 1970s neighborhood recreates suburban Denmark with orange wallpaper and vintage appliances. Plan three hours minimum. Entrance costs 170 DKK for adults.
