St. Pauls Kirke

St. Pauls Kirke

A Neo-Romanesque church completed in 1887, its twin spires dominating the Frederiksbjerg skyline and visible across the southern city. The long nave sits beneath a vaulted ceiling, with side aisles and a rounded apse in the Romanesque manner. Stained glass windows filter afternoon light into colored patterns on the stone floor. The church hosts Sunday services and occasional concerts. Free entry during daytime hours. The neighborhood around it developed after the church was built, working-class housing that turned bourgeois over the decades.
